Palestine-Israel, the joint struggle and the activities within Israel

The Israeli state forces escalate their repression lately. Their main target are pressure on Palestinian farmers to transfer out from the Jordan valley and the south of Hebron hills, and the joint struggle against settlers expansion and Israeli state terror at Beit Ummar, Nebi Saleh, and Qadum. All along the last weeks there are demonstrations and vigils against the intended bombing attack of Israel on the nuclear facilities of Iran. Few of them in front of the security compound at Kaplan street, others were mainly in front of the not far away apartment tower where the security minister Barak live. Israel Putermam video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QPUnMJIBJM At the security compound. The struggle against the harassment of refugees and the social struggle continue too but no large masses are involved.

Bil'in

The end of the Summer is still hot in Bil'in this Friday. As Usual most of us went by car from the village center to the Abu Lamun park near the separation wall. About a dozen Israelis, two dozen internationals, a delegation of youth from Nablus (with eggs) and Bil'iners, started the demo by approaching the near by wall with the usual chants.
After a while the eggs started to fly in the direction of the soldiers piping behind the wall. Slowly the state forces tried to make us smell the Fragrance of Israel using the spray of Skunk like flavored water. The northern winds carried the water away but still forced us to keep a distance from the wall. Only after about half an hour the real shower of tear gas canisters was shot on us.
The second wave of tear gas marked the end of the demonstration and we returned to the village.

Nabi Saleh

"Rough day in Nabi Saleh. Massive forces of IOF and border police invaded the village. They were instructed to break the doors of the houses, and get everybody out. Many Palestinian and Israelis have been arrested, no accurate numbers yet. Amongst the Arrestees, Nariman Tamimi. A Palestinian youth lost two fingers. The soldiers shot directly at his hand. It isn't clear whether they were using direct impact or live ammo bullets. They are using live ammo inside the village".
After being driven from one settlement to another for a good few hours all the detainees were recently released at the entrance to Nabi Salih. With no conditions or bail.

Kafr Qaddum

A relatively quiet demo in Kufar Kaddum this Friday.
We were some 200 Palestinians, 5 Israelis, 2-3 Internationals.
The soldiers and the bulldozer stayed away from us and did not get into the village.
A number of tear gas canisters were shot, no one injured or arrested.
In the end we celebrated our victory over the forces of evil.
The falafel in Nebi Elias was a bit dry, but the salads compensated.

Palestine-Israel, In spite of the pick of the Summer heat, the Ramadan day hours fasting and the war mongering in Israel

After years of Friday demos in Bil'in and Saturdays and weekly days demos in other locations I took a break and traveled to the St-Imier international anarchist congress celebrating 140 years of struggle. I presented there three venues: one, the film Bil'in Habibti (Bil'in my love of Shai Polak) with discussion of the struggle in Bil'in, One about the Israeli Anarchists Against the Wall initiative, and one about the Anarchist psychotherapy I developed (http://ilan.shalif.com/psychology/content1.htm). Nothing can compare to a week with thousands of anarchists of all trends from all over the world - meeting in person comrades I work with for years. The struggle in Israel continued with out me and some reports cover the activities I missed.

Bil'in Friday 10.8.2012

25 Palestinians, 12 Israelis and 10 internationals marched towards to the wall calling for the end of the occupation, freedom for Palestine and for soldiers to refuse. After some of the shabab started removing parts of the barbed wire fence 'protecting' the 8m high concrete wall and after some rather well aimed stone throwing the skunk machine was revved up and due to the winds there was no need to be close to get the stink. Then came a barrage of tear gas. From the distance the soliders were to us many of the tear canisters landed dangerously close to the protesters missing many of us by centimeters. After a short amount of relative calm and after the shabab returned down towards the wall, we followed and again a huge amount of tear gas was used. This time encasing the protesters and solidarity activists with gas from all sides. Soon after this the shabab started to return to the village singing and chanting to their victory march. Upon our return to the village we were then hosted by the wonderfully hospitable Burnat family. Ramadan Kareem and wishing all a good weekend.
Dvid Reeb video at http://youtu.be/uRyRKoJr6Hg

Friday 17-8-12. The end of the Ramadan demo. 11 Israelis, dozen internationals and 20 Bil'iners demonstrated as usual against the separation wall and occupation.
After a while the spray of stinking water forced most of us to retreat a bit. Later, plenty of tear gas canister forced nearly all of us to retreat further. After a while we ended the demo and returned to the village.

Nabi Saleh

Protest in Nabi Saleh has just started.

Qaddoum

Friday 17-8-12 Five Israelis some two hundred fifty international and Palestinians, demonstrated today in Qadum. As usual protest march began towards the forbidden road. Dozens of shabab were prepared with tires igbhtrd as soon as we reached the road. And put barricades and obstacles in the way - respect. The army has responded to with plenty of tear gas. Half an hour later dozens of soldiers stormed towards the center of the village, a bulldozer cleared the road from stones and the soldiers just descended on the village frantic like a vulture on the prowl. mass arrests in the weekly demo in Qaddoum. Current reports speak of several dozens of Palestinians, over ten internationals - one of them even accused as if was throwing stones, and 3 Israelis. The hand of one of the Palestinians and the leg of another were broken (as the heritage of the late prime minister Rabin promote: "break their legs and arms".)

The army remained a while for a rampage in the village, shoot some tear gas and then retreated and left. The demonstration ended with singing and triumph.
The four journalists were released immediately. The Israelis and the Internationals were also released after questioning and the usual conditions: third party signed bail, and suspension for two weeks from Samaria. Unfortunately and pain, Abdullah and Qasim were not released. They were led handcuffed to Hawara accused of throwing stones.

Ma'asara

Friday 10/8/12 Today the demo marched in the heat of the Ramadan. 7 Israely from Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, and 10 Palestinians. A force of 30 soldiers waited in the entrance of the village and prevented the march to the separation fence. The demonstrators protested loudly and expressed their mind to the soldiers. No violent confrontations were developed.

Saturday, only about 500 people gradually converged at the national theater square late afternoon. After some words we marched with various chanting on the pavements towards the place where Moshe Silman ignited himself there at a previous demo and died a month ago. After a speech and a minute of silence we continued towards the building of the government offices - this time occupying the main street itself. There some speeches and chants for a long while. Afterwards most of the people marched to the tent camp of Homeless people near the train station.

Other locations activities were mainly in Jerusalem

Palestine-Israel, The joint struggle and the social struggle continue in the middle of the hot Summer.

Due to the Ramadan day fasting weeks the joint struggle in the various villages was not as usual. As compensation our comrades were involved in the various demos in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. In Jerusalem a pink-black block participated in the gay parade. In Tel Aviv comrades demonstrated on Wednesday the Susia demolition orders at the military radio station. On Saturday comrades participated in the commemoration meeting of the massacre at the gay club three years ago. Not far away, we had the social struggle - Occupy Tel Aviv. In spite of a competition by a reformist split of the movement meeting promoted by media and hired leafleting workers, our march and demo was even better than the three previous Saturday demos of July. Tomorrow, I am on my way to the international anarchist congress in St-Imier Swiss, commemorating the 140 anniversary of the first anarchist congress there.

Bil'in

16 Israeli activists with the anarchists against the wall initiative, joined 15 internationals and 2 dozen people of Bil'in in the Friday weekly demonstration against the separation wall, the robbery of Bil'in lands for expanding the near by settler colonialist town Modi'in Elit, and against the pccupation (both the 1948 Nakba and the 1967 Naksa).
As spesial treatment for the ramadan, the shabab brought a tray of eags for the Israeli soldiers who stay behind the wall. Not sure who started first this time but not long after the more dearing ones approached the wall, a "duel" of tear gas grenade shooting and eags started. The strong northern wind enabled us to navigate between the exploading tear gas canisters and the salvos of stinking skunk water spraied at us. For about an hour we received our weekly dose of tear gas - non suffered too much befor yielding to the heat and the Ramadan day fasting and returning to the village. There, most of the Israelis and the internationals enjoied the usual long hospitality of the Burnat family before leaving the village.

Nabi Saleh

Settlers criminals backed by the Israeli government repeatedly burned and cut down olive trees in the village of Nabi Saleh
Jewish settlers attacked last night [Tuesday], fields of olive trees belonging to residents of Nabi Saleh, north of Ramallah, olive trees found burned and cut and shouting to
Friday, unarmed demonstration in Nabi Saleh about to start. Activists report around 150 people in attendance.
Activists report that IOF have withdrawn from the village and are on the mountain.
IOF have moved back into the village and continue to fire teargas, rubber bullets and stun grenades from the gas station and from within the village between houses. They are searching and aresting Israelis and interntional activists.
Six Israeli activists, 4 internationals and one Palestinian were detained in the weekly demo.
According to reports from activists in Nabi Saleh, at least 3 of 6 arrestees are journalists and have been beaten. Reports also indicate that Israeli activist and writer, Miko Peled was one of the arrested, and was hit/beaten and used as a human shield. Four of the Israeli acitivsts arrested were released only ater 6 hours, with two week exclusion order.

Nil'in

Ni'lin is an occupied Palestinian town in the Ramallah and al-Bireh Governorate in the central West Bank. The residents of Ni'lin and international activists, have been staging weekly demonstrations against a nearby expansion of the Israeli West Bank barrier. It has been estimated that the completion of the barrier will remove half of Ni'lin's land
Today's demonstration in Nil'in is commemorating the 4th anniversary to the brutal murder of 10 year old Ahmad Mousa. Protestors have reached the gate at the apartheid wall and IOF have opened fire with teargas.

Sheikh Jarrah

Weekly Vigil at Sheikh Jarrah Friday 3/8 at 17:00

Tel Aviv

Demo at military radio station about Susia demolition order on Wednesday:
Palestinians Susya whole village at risk. The Civil Administration issued demolition orders for dozens of buildings in the village. If orders are exercised will be the third expulsion of the Susya residents from their land.
Despite being a village in Area C, ie, an Israeli administrative responsibility in, the village is not connected to infrastructure, does not receive basic civic services and does not get building permits. In contrast, the illegal settler colonialist outposts in the area all connected to all the services required. This is apartheid Israeli at its naked exposer.
In addition, settlements and outposts around the village for residents create an impossible reality. Harassments everyday, destruction of crops, attacks of people, stealing goats and equipment, graffiti of defamations and threats with "price tag". These are all to inflicted on the Susia villagers under the auspices of "security forces" of the Israeli army forces. State of Israel seeks to carry out ethnic cleansing in southern Mount Hebron, to expand settlements and Judaize the area, maximum land under Jewish control with a minimum presence of Palestinians if at all.
Army Radio, will broadcast tomorrow night the program "summer campaign of Radio", hosted by Idan Kevlar. Broadcasting each week a program from other City across the country". The program will air tomorrow from a settlement "town" sitting on the land of Susya.
The military radio station serves as a vehicle of military mendacious propaganda disguised as journalist, trying to white wash the dirt that cannot be cleaned.
Today, [Wednesday] few dozen activists demonstrated at the Jaffa neighborhood of Tel Aviv where the military radio station is located.
Jaffa, Susiya the same revolution! Signs hanging in the evening demonstration at the entrance to the base radio station in Jaffa. Military propaganda station which chose to broadcast a special program of settlement located near the land of the west bank Palestinian village Susya which was issued demolition order. The Israeli Ministry of De fence and the Civil Administration want to destroy Susia as part of the cleansing of the C area of the occupied west bank from its Palestinian villages. The message was that Jaffa is not silent, and sends a message of support to the village Susiya's just struggle.

Saturday

In spite of media refraining from inform on the radical ("servants") demonstration and promoting the reformist ("wannabe masters") one, about two thousands participated with us.
We converge late evening in at the national theater square, and then marched to the state office building at Begin Road. For about 4 hours the Kaplan St. and Begin Road were occupied. (The other one supported by some of the tycoons and centrist party in building succeeded to lure 5 thousand participants.)
After state forces dispersed most of these present at midnight, some of the activists remained on the steps of the state offices building to say good morning and good week to the bureaucrats. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151164370028072 http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151093430394208

8 activists were arrested.

A group of the activist went to the museum square to "visit" the competing reformist meeting to tell them their opinions on pretenders promoted by the establishment.
